Botox (BoNT-A) & Implant Success

About this Seminar

Do you have patients who require dental implants? Have you had patients with dental implant failures? Bone loss? Inflammation? Infection? Using BoNT-A prior to implant surgery can enhance hard and soft tissue grafting success and aid in successful bone regeneration. We know that in the battle between bone, tooth, muscle, TMJ and soft tissue - muscle always wins! BoNT-A has a relaxing effect on muscles. This presentation will review the muscular impact on the periodontium, explain the impact of anxiety and depression on bone loss, and how BoNT-A can have a positive therapeutic effect on both. In addition, we will review angiogenesis and how Bonita can improve osseous integration. Selective Bonita muscle targeting will improve your implant patient success.

Course Objectives:

  • to understand how relaxation of musculature using BoNT-A can enhance positive outcomes when placing implants,

  • to understand how the muscles surrounding the alveolar ridges can interfere with implant integration and how BoNT-A can be used to relax them,

  • to understand how BoNT-A can improve angiogenesis in graft and implant treatment
