Understand the fundamentals of temporomandibular disorders (TMD), including

anatomy, etiology, and common symptoms.


  • Explore the advancements in 3D printing technology and its applications in fabricating splints for TMD treatment.

  • Acquire knowledge of different types of 3D printed splints used in TMD therapy and their respective mechanisms of action.

  • Understand the biomechanics of occlusion and how 3D printed splints can be used to achieve optimal occlusal relationships.

  • Learn about the materials used in 3D printing for splint fabrication, including their properties, advantages, and limitations.

  • Discuss interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, and other healthcare professionals in the comprehensive management of TMD using 3D printed splints.

About Dr. Gazala

Dr. Gazala's educational journey has taken him from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, where he completed his undergraduate studies, to New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his dental degree. Following that, he pursued a six-year path to attain his medical degree and undergo extensive training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at McGill University in Montreal.
Dr. Gazala is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is an active member of both the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).
At Atlantic Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Centre, Dr. Gazala is dedicated to practicing the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. His core values and practice philosophy revolve around delivering exceptional patient care and creating an outstanding patient experience for each individual. 

About Dr. Aminzadeh

Dr. Aminzadeh is an alumnus of the University of Michigan Graduate Prosthodontics program and the founder and chief executive officer of Implant Genius, the world’s first implant treatment planning company in which prosthodontists provide remote consultations on ideal implant positions and mentorship in esthetic and full mouth rehabilitation. As an expert in the field of treatment planning using assisted intelligence (AI), Dr. Aminzadeh supervises teams of biomedical engineers, prosthodontists, and computer engineers based in Canada and the United Kingdom to develop AI-driven teledentistry solutions. An award-winning educator, Dr. Aminzadeh is one of the founders of the West Coast Institute for Continuing Dental Education and teaches Implant treatment planning to graduate prosthodontic and periodontic residents at the The University of British Columbia. A Canadian Board-Certified clinician, Kevin is the founder and director of Key Dental Laboratory, which specializes in esthetic implant restorations. Kevin maintains a private practice restricted to prosthodontics in Vancouver, Canada.
